Uphill battle.

So this is the weekend that we FINALLY install the raised veggie beds.

History:

Late January
Ordered seeds for my raised vegetable garden from Burpee.com.

Late February
Email Burpee saying I never received the package, so they graciously resent my order.

Tuesday 3/13/07
Order received

I was sorting through my seeds and slowly the realization that these should have been planted 6-8 weeks ago crept into my consciousness. Damn. I'm already late getting started. And the beds aren't even erected yet.

Wednesday 3/14/07
Ordered soil from Nursery in Roseville. (Now I finally know who to call to order dirt/rocks/etc! I've never done that before...)

Thursday 3/15/07 (today)
Ordered 10 Composite decking 20' 2x6's from Lowe's for the bed sides for delivery Saturday

Planned:

Friday 3/16/07
Work 7-4
Go to Home Depot
Rent 1-man auger
Dig 11 - one foot deep holes for bed anchors while sun is still up (crossing fingers)
Anchor bed corners

Saturday 3/17/07
Wood delivery 8am-Noon
Cut wood down into correctly-sized pieces
Install beds
Soil delivery 12:30pm-2:30pm
Fill beds with soil
Drink green beer and eat corn beef hash to celebrate

Sunday 3/18/07
Finishing touches on beds
Plant seeds according to package directions

Told you I was running late....so now I have to speed up to make up for it! I'll document what we did this weekend after it is over, if I'm not too exhausted!
