Last year, we went 33 days between rain in November through December, which is usually one of the wetter parts of the year.
Last night, mother nature hopefully showed us she does not intend to repeat last year.
Yesterday morning, I fertilized the all the citrus trees with my organic citrus food when it started sprinkling. Chris mowed the front lawn (maybe the 4th time since June 1st) amidst sprinkles, and once we came inside a light rain moved in.
We can usually gauge how hard it's raining by the sound of the rain gutters from inside the house. If it sounds like a dribbling water fountain, the water is coming down rather steadily.
It rained steadily from around Noon yesterday through about 5am this morning. Weather.com says we only received .65" of rain yesterday, but those totals don't take into account the heavy rain from Midnight through 5am.
The funniest part? The rain cleaned our DirecTV satellite dish to the point where we now get the local HD channels that we weren't getting (but should have -- we we're too lazy to call them and spend $60 to get it fixed).
Let it rain!
