Chris and I went for our inaugural bike run tonight after the school lost electricity and our professor could no longer carry on in the dark...
We went about 2.2 miles around our little area, not too many hills (like the monster we have to climb to get back home at the end of the day - anyone know a site where I can calculate an elevation change between 2 points?).
My goal is to ride a little each day, and make the "practice work run" this weekend. I'm a little nervous about it to be honest, at least the going up the monster hill part.
I commented to Chris when we got home that it's amazing what we used to do on these bikes as kids - hell, they were like extra appendages! And it's weird - I feel like I need to learn to trust the bike again. Too much knowledge about how things work is often no solace for dirty bike chains and barely off-kilter brake pads.
But I guess that's what we've got helmets for.
