It should be a holiday. I love my birthday. Chris is my slave today, and I get to do whatever I want. Ice cream for lunch? Perhaps. That is unless I want Chris to make me a special grilled cheese sandwhich. (PS - I am looking forward to tomato season! A grilled cheese with tomatoes and onions is a nice treat.)
Q: What was the best present I could have received?
A: It rained/drizzled the whole night! (A Davis Vantage Pro 2 weatherstation or Giant Sedona bike would have been nice, but hey, I can still dream about them).
The Sacramento area has had rain recently, but it's been very thunderstorm like (without the thunder and lightning) in that it will have been raining 2 blocks from here, but never rained at our house.
So when Kristi at NotSoCrafty and Leslie from Growing a Garden in Davis have been reporting rain recently, we've been bone dry.
Now all the weeds will get a chance to sprout, and I shall be doubly busy over spring break week!
And a big shout out to my good friend Liz who must obviously read this blog because she sent me an REI gift card and hella funny card in the mail for my birthday!
Life is good today, my friends. Very good.

You know whats good? A grilled ham and cheese on sour dough with a side of zucchini in Italiian style tomato sauce...mmmm. I dip the sandwich in the sauce and eat the zucchini slices in between bites of the sandwich. It's really good.
I think it's going to rain here too later, it's all cloudy...You guys up North always get all the good rain! lol.
I think I'm going to cook a spiral ham and do housework while I drink jasmin green tea for the remainder of the day since it's all cloudy outside, ew.
Don't work Chris too hard! lol.

Garrett - We had ham but I chose against it for a "pure" grilled cheese today. I'll try your recipe when we have homegrown zucchini! It drizzled all day, and we visited Chris' cousin and his wife that just had twins last week (about 25 miles east of here). It rained there most of the day. Hope the ham and tea was yummy! Today was a good day to stay inside for sure!

Happy birthday! I remember my first grilled cheese with tomato in it. It was at my college cafeteria, but even so I could see whole vistas opening up before me. Congrats on the rain! :)

My husband instituted birthday week so the celebration lasts more than one day. Somehow he ends up with only a day, but I think that's because we're still burned out from Christmas when his b-day rolls around in mid-January. He usually gets a weekend trip though, so maybe it balances out. Anyway, happy birthday and more videos please!
