Unintentional Slow Food

homemade mayonnaise, originally uploaded by gardenpunk.

I went to make myself a sandwich for lunch and realized that we had no mayonnaise. Now, I'm not a mayonnaise freak, but I cannot have a sandwich without it. What to do?

Make your own.

After a quick Google search located this recipe, I was off to make mayonnaise in my food processor. It was relatively easy, if not excruciatingly slow. And I managed to get oil everywhere.

The mayonnaise it turned out is pretty good. A little lemony, a little thin, will probably deconstruct in the fridge over the next few days, but that's ok. I had my sandwich. It only took me 45 minutes to make it.
