I was using the dogs water bucket to water a desperately dry Marguerite daisy (the fuchsia one), when I thought a snake slithered by!
HOLY COW! It's a salamander/lizard/snake thing!
Chris ran inside and instead of grabbing the video camera, he grabbed the digital camera by mistake. Oh well.
I think this little guy is an Alligator Lizard, but I'm not entirely sure. Was it someone's pet? I dunno. It was like a foot long though.
And his tail had obviously regenerated. See pictures.
