You'll never guess

Guess where I spent my lunch hour?

Folsom State Prison. (Yes, the one Johnny Cash made famous).

Folsom State Prison

Tourism is a thriving part of the prison, so as part of our weekly photography field trip we headed over there and visited the museum and walked the grounds (outside of the stone wall). Here's a few random shots from today:

Deer

Old rusty tractor

Prison Museum

Yep, pretty random I know.

Ooh! Extra points if you tell me what your favorite Johnny Cash song is. Mine is "Hurt" (NIN remake) or "Ring of Fire"...

Were the deer outside the prison? Nice tractor pic! Have you ever visited Alcatraz? I haven't been for years, hated the prison tour but the gardens were really awesome, as were the views and boat rides. I'm with you on the two best JC songs!

Holy crap, those are great shots!

I also love Ring of Fire. Such a great song, and so many great remakes of it through the years!

I'm with your Katie, "Hurt" is an amazing cover. I like it infinitely better then the Nine Inch Nails version. Such an awesome song! Now I got to go freakin listen to it. :P

You've got a good eye for photos, Katie. I like the tractor. "One Piece at a Time" is my favorite!

I was trying to find a common link between the photos but I failed. You're right–random.

I go up to Folsom on a regular basis but I didn't know that Folsom prison was so pretty (at least on the outside.)

I love the pics.
