Thanks to my favorite Pancakemama - a quick post before the long weekend.
Looking forward to the Gold Driver in front of me (ala Farmer Fred), sheet mulch project, gardening, nursery visit, BBQ with friends, holding a baby I've never met, A's games in HD, enjoying the nice weather.
What are you doing this long weekend?

Planting vegetables and sleeping in the hammock!
Gold Driver...wow, I didn't know it had a name! It's a great reason to keep those wide mouth 16-20 oz Gatorade bottles in the freezer. Fill about a quarter full with water, stick in the freezer...instant mixed drink container for summertime pool floating...with a cap, for insurance. After several, the cap becomes a necessity.
It's popcorn planting weekend here!
AHHH!!! I wanna hammock! I get work with only Sunday off. Going to do some much needed weeding on Sunday.
Until just now, working! But the rest of the weekend is for gardening, reading and eating, (with a bit of twittering and blogging thrown in.)
Finishing the raised bed and planting the long-overdue raspberries, hacking down a spindly dogwood to make space for daughter's new wood playhouse, going to the beach, taking a ferry ride, eating ice cream. Happy weekend, sounds like you have fun plans too!
Chris - OOoh a hammock sounds nice. Especially since it's not a thousand degrees here! You've got me thinking...but it might involve yet another trip to OSH this weekend.
farmer fred - I didn't either. I typed the ingredients I had on hand into DrinksMixer.com's search, and viola! Gold driver. Do you add lime to yours? Thanks for the tips on how to enjoy.
Jamie - Weeding? Hopefully not your mulch project already!
susan - Reading sounds nice. What are you reading right now?
Karen - You sound like it has been/is a productive weekend! Now you've got me thinking about raspberries...mmmm
sounds like a good weekend! loved the how-to-sheet-mulch post too. it looks great.
I went away for 5 days and came back refreshed and very surprised to find how much the garden had changed in such a short time...And now I finally have to cut the poppies.
