I recently posted a video review of the Waspinator product that keeps wasps out of your garden or BBQ naturally, without harm to them and mentioned that the one I used last year fell apart at the end of the season. It was one of the cons I listed actually.
I was contacted by Karen at Contech Enterprises, the maker of the Waspinator (and other products as the ScareCrow water sprinkler, amongst other animal training products), to let me know that they had a bad batch of Waspinators last year because typically they are UV-stabilized and shouldn't break down after a single season of use. She even offered a replacement!
I was happy to hear from Karen because I think reaching out to your audience to right situations is absolutely the hallmark of a good company. I was happy to hear from them, and if you read our policy on advertising in the Contact Us page of this website, we only post links to those companies we believe in (ie. we cannot be bought). I am happy to offer a link to their products and site because of their superior products and customer service.
If you're interested in the Waspinator or other well-designed products, please visit the Contech Enterprises website.
Thanks Karen!

I like the name Waspinator.
My husband makes this trap made of a plastic two gallon water jug, water and soap and dangling meat of your choice. It's really disgusting. I think I would prefer the Waspinator.
I think its a fantastic idea and a good on them for offering a replacement.
But... Don't wasps serve a role as predators of things that eat our veggies? I suppose its a matter of degrees, nobody wants a nest in their backyard.
Just thinking out loud.
Cool! Good to know.
Your garden looks fantastic.
Sunflowers already towering? The garden looks delicious!
chigiy - I guess the Waspinator is cool because it is vegetarian? ewww!
Koey - Yeah yeah yeah. I know. We still see them all the time, they just don't swarm or build nests in our rafters anymore.
Kim & Victoria - Thanks!
Layanee - I should have mentioned that photo is of the shredded waspinator at the end of LAST SUMMER! Although my sunflowers are threatening to open any day now...
I don't have wasps, but am so thrilled by the gadgety name that I want one anyway!
Thanks for the thoughtful review - wasps are often a problem for clients and I'd like to have something to recommend.
I think it's great, too, when companies respond to consumer complaints and are willing to make things right. I don't have any problems with wasps, but if I did, I'd think about the Waspinator.
It was great to meet you and Chris at Spring Fling. I forgot some of the others' blog names, but I couldn't forget "garden punks"--love it:) Your photos of the weekend are awesome, and I really appreciate being able to see some of the places I missed.
