my aunt is visiting us from socal right now and she was commenting on the tighter water use rules, which is basically ruling out the conventional green monoliths.

we chatted for a bit about xeriscaping and clay pot irrigation for her garden.

seems like one way or another, regionally adapted crops will make a comeback.

That's very awesome. My sister and one of her neighbors xerascaped their lawns in Dallas - so a lot of cacti (flowering and non-flowering) and they attract all sorts of amazing wildlife. It's certainly more interesting than the cookie-cutter green miracle-gro lawns most of America seems to strive for.

I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
